WE ARE is ready for the next round! We have a lot planned for this year. In addition to workshops in Salzburgs' youth centers, there will also be another WE ARE Game Camp in 2026. We will be visiting the children at the Landeskrankenhaus (hospital) and the Kinderstadt Mini-Salzburg (children's city).
WE ARE Game Camp – Glitter Edition
27 July – 1 August 2026 WE ARE Game Camp

From July 27 to August 1, 2026, we will develop digital games together with children and teenagers. This year, glitter is our theme, and we warmly invite everyone aged 8 to 15 to join:
Children and teenagers can paint, draw, compose music, create graphic designs, take photographs, write creatively, tell stories, learn programming, explore game engines, and design worlds.
The WE ARE Game Camp takes place this year from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (monday – sunday) at our gold extra studio, Paris-Lodron-Straße 11 (5020 Salzburg). The registration fee is €60.00, BUT FREE for families receiving minimum income support, Kulturpass, or Aktiv:Karte. We also provide plenty of (healthy) snacks, a delicious lunch, and enough (screen) breaks!
We have a child protection policy that all project participants must agree and sign.
We also maintain a very good supervision ratio and work with experienced educators, game developers, and artists.

Workshops
Exploring artificial intelligence and games creatively
Workshop with Kai Trausenegger for children at the state hospital (Landeskrankenhaus)
March 31, 2026, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
April 1, 2026, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Exploring artificial intelligence and games creatively is a two-day workshop for children and young people aged 8 to 15. The aim is to enable a playful, reflective, and creative approach to artificial intelligence and games. Using classic analog methods such as drawing and collage, participants create their own images on the topic of “Games and me.” These are then interpreted and described by other children and young people. The images and text are digitized and further developed into new visual results using AI-supported image generation, which are then printed out again and returned to analog form. The workshop combines creative practice with collaborative work and promotes social and empathic skills. In accompanying discussions, participants engage in age-appropriate questions about interpretation, perspective change, authorship, collaboration, and the opportunities and risks of AI. Switching between creative and interpretive roles encourages reflection and teaches conscious use of digital technologies.

Life is full of decisions. Imagine being able to try everything out and explore different possibilities. In this workshop, you will create interactive photo or image stories where every decision influences the outcome of the story. You will learn the logic behind websites and build your very own story. You will create the images yourself: you can take photos, draw, or paint.
