Asifa Austria 40th Anniversary Exhibition at the Künstlerhaus Wien. Opening on July 9, 2026

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the exhibition “Frame by Frame—Asifa Austria from 1985 to today” will open at the Künstlerhaus Wien. gold extra will be represented with a new work titled “Keyframe” by Reinhold Bidner.
ASIFA (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation / International Animated Film Association) was founded in 1960 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of artistic animated film. The Austrian ASIFA section, known as ASIFA Austria, was established in 1985 within the context of the Studio for Experimental Animated Film at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, which was initiated by Maria Lassnig and continues to operate to this day. Reinhold Bidner has been a member of ASIFA Austria for about 8 years.
The exhibition “Bild für Bild” (Frame by Frame) features works by numerous Asifa Austria members and explores Austrian animated film since 1985, with a particular focus on the intersection of artistic animation and the visual arts. gold extra / Reinhold Bidner is represented there with his new interactive work “Keyframe,” and Bidner’s animated short film “Ex Terrat” will also be screened.
The exhibition runs through July 26, 2026.
